BARC Week 44: What boosted slots viewership for ABP News and Republic TV?

The telecast of ‘Kaun Banega Mukhyamantri’ on ABP News spiked slot viewership by 70 per cent according to BARC ratings for Week 44 (October 28-November 3). The episode was aired on October 30 from 6.29 p.m. to 7.50 p.m. and garnered 0.7 million impressions against its previous four weeks' average of 4.5 million impressions for the same time slot.

ABP News took the third spot with 78.9 million impressions in the Hindi News Genre, which was led by Aaj Tak with 102 million impressions. Meanwhile, India TV, zee-news_1333.html">Zee News, and News Nation took the second, fourth, and fifth positions with 87 million, 78.6 million, and 72 million impressions respectively.

Among English news channels, BARC noticed that the interview with Finance Minister Arun Jaitely on Republic TV led to an increase in slot viewership to 0.015 million impressions from its previous four weeks' average of 0.007 million impressions. The episode was aired between 9.01 p.m. and 10.24 p.m. on October 28.

Republic TV continued to dominate the English news genre with 0.69 million impressions. It was followed by times-now_1213.html">Times Now, India Today, NDTV 24X7, and CNN News18 with 0.66 million, 0.34 million, 0.3 million, and 0.25 million impressions respectively.
