Express Adda hosts Sir Mark Tully

The recent edition of Express Adda hosted Sir Mark Tully, a name trusted by millions for accurate and credible information.Sir Mark Tully, synonymous with British broadcasting during his three-decade stint with the BBC and even thereafter, has been a keen observer of India’s journey. He has witnessed and reported some of the most significant events in the subcontinent, including the Indo-Pak wars, Operation Blue Star, Bhopal gas tragedy, the assassinations of Indira and Rajiv Gandhi and the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

During the discussion, Sir Mark Tully took questions and spoke on a range of subjects—on being a celebrity journalist before the age of selfie, the BBC scooping the news of Indira Gandhi’s assassination and why he thinks an assault on ideas will not go too far in India.He also spoke on controlling the media and power of rumour and on his experience in reporting in Pakistan.He happily engaged with the audience and took several questions on his abiding images of India and his childhood in India.
