Media mavens excited about CVL Srinivas being the e4m 'Influencer of the Year 2017'

CVL Srinivas, WPP India Country Manager and CEO, South Asia, GroupM, has significantly contributed to the media industry in India, shaping it with his foresight and leadership. He will be conferred with the exchange4media Influencer of the Year Award at the exchange4media Conclave on October 27 in Mumbai.

Srinivas has been a guiding force in the media industry. He was part of the startup team that came together to form Fulcrum - the dedicated media planning and buying team for Hindustan Unilever Limited in 1995. His efforts to set up Fulcrum, now, Mindshare Fulcrum has been one of his biggest contributions to the advertising fraternity. The media industry model that we see today is built on his keen foresight and vision.

“Calling his contributions huge would be an understatement. I think in every aspect of the business, whether it is setting up new standards for measurement, getting all the stakeholders together, or setting new benchmarks in terms of media procurement, and relationship with media companies, he has set up a new trend almost everywhere,” said Pradeep Dwivedi, CEO Sakal Media Group. “I think that Srinivas receiving the exchange4media Influencer of the Year award is a very well-deserved and truly creditable honour for him,” he added.

Calling it a well-deserved award for Srinivas, Ronita Mitra, Founder and Chief Strategist, Brand Eagle Consulting said, "Srini, apart from his strong strategic thinking, is clearly a visionary. You can see the manifestation of that in a lot of new initiatives that all agencies in the GroupM fold have undertaken during his tenure as a leader. GroupM has been among the front runners in adoption of digital, content, analytics -- aspects of marketing which are relevant for the future. This has made the GroupM agencies strong business partners for the brands they manage."

Under his leadership, GroupM has witnessed a healthy growth and has consolidated its position as the leading media agency in the country. GroupM witnessed a growth of 35 per cent from 2014 to get a billing of $4558 million in 2015 according to a study by Paris-based Research Company Evaluating Media Agencies (RECMA). The company’s market share has grown from 39.5 per cent to 45 per cent under Srinivas' leadership. Lauding his leadership qualities, Mitrajit Bhattacharya, President & Publisher, Chitralekha Group said, “You must judge a leader by the organisation he or she leads. And there can't be a more successful media behemoth than GroupM in India and South Asia. And the man who has quietly led them to this position of domination is Srini.”

Peers of Srinivas from the media industry only have words of praise for this media maven who has now been given the additional position of WPP India Country Manager. Mitrajit added that it's only natural that Srinivas now gets to lead WPP as Country Manager. “All the best to him.” Dwivedi said, “His elevation to the role of WPP’s Country Manager is testimony to his contributions and leadership.”

During his career spanning over 20 years, Srinivas has worked with other leading media agencies in India like Starcom Mediavest and Madison World managing clients such as Coca Cola, Cadbury’s, Vodafone, Samsung, Nokia, and Perfetti to name a few.
