Puneet Anand’s weekends involve his children, relaxation and a dash of adventure

For Puneet Anand, Group Marketing Head, Hyundai Motor India, weekends are all about spending time with his children, Saanvi (14) and Aayush (9). “I love cooking for them, especially non-vegetarian food; it brings a smile to their faces and that is the best reward,” says the doting father, whose world also encompasses his wife and a pet dog, Muffin.

“I get two days off in a week but my wife being a doctor, gets time off only on Sundays. So, I am the master of the house on Saturdays,” he laughs. “I usually take it slow on the weekends, as there is no time restraint. I walk daily for seven km, be it Saturday or Sunday, I can’t miss out on that. Now, I have also started playing table tennis on my weekdays to keep myself fit.”

Anand confesses that he is a workaholic but on weekends he is a completely different man. He loves watching action-packed movies like Mission Impossible, the James bond series and many more. He also reveals that he loves dancing and will soon be taking classes for the same. “It gives me joy and helps relieve stress,” he says.

Another stress buster for Anand are his kids. He usually has his dinner around 8 pm so he can spend quality time with his children before going to bed. And while family time is important for Anand, me-time is just as crucial. “I can’t live without reading newspapers—it is a must for me. I love keeping myself updated,” he says.

Anand, a Punjabi, hails from Jammu. “It’s been almost 20 years in Delhi and I am in love with this place,” he says. But that’s not to say that the travel bug has bitten him. Ask him about his favourite places to go for a vacation and he quips, “New Zealand, Australia and Singapore are on the top of the list.” Anand also loves exploring destinations with his family. London and Switzerland are next on his list for a family vacation. “My desire is to settle down in New Zealand after retirement,” he says.

The marketing pro also harbours an adventurous streak as he loves to try new things like zorbing, shooting and speed boating, which are his all-time favourites.

We wish him more adventures and exciting times ahead!
